Malaria kills about 1 million people per year. Cocoa farmers, who live in the tropics, are especially susceptible to the disease, as they live in the country where there's plenty of standing water.

Arsene is suffering from a bout of malaria. It's over 90 degrees, and he's wearing a sweater! Malaria starts by knocking you flat, and you often spend a week suffering debilitating bouts of fever.
