These pictures are the property of Tom Neuhaus. You may use each as displayed on this site for free; please attribute the source (Tom Neuhaus, Project Hope and Fairness). For higher resolution, you can purchase the original for $5. To do this, visit www.projecthopeandfairness.org and click the Donate button. Donate $5 per picture and then email me (tom@projecthopeandfairness.org) what pictures you want and I will send them back to you. Thank you in advance for donating cocoa farming tools to West African cocoa farmers by purchasing a picture.
Or, a yummy way to help the West African cocoa farmer is to purchase chocolate from my company, Sweet Earth Organic Chocolates. Or, visit Splash Cafe, my sister's restaurant. Splash Cafe and its sister business, Splash Cafe Artisan Bakery donate at least $2500 every summer to Project Hope and Fairness and makes my trips possible.

Children all over the world are great photographic subjects; adults love looking at them because they represent all the hopes and dreams of humanity: the hope that we will live happy and full lives, the dreams that we will someday replace innocence for the cynicism that runs rampant, especially in the West. Children of the West African cocoa village are as beautiful and as charming as children anywhere else. Especially notable about them is their easy camaraderie. In a village, there are no fences, no judgments about who should play with home, no fear of razors in Halloween apples. Children are respected and treated gently, except in rare occasions.

Children commonly do at least one hour of chores per day--like American children who grew up on a pre-International Harvester farm. One of the chores is doing the dishes. Here is how you do dishes in a Ghanaian or Ivorian village. Mmaniaye
